The HK House of Peers wishes to thank all the collectors and attendees at Fire & ICE – for a wonderful Convention. Collectors of Harmony Kingdom and Adam Binder Editions enjoyed our guest artists: PETER CALVESBERT and ADAM BINDER.

The convention took place June 23–26, 2011
at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Chicago – North Shore Conference Center in Skokie, Illinois.
Skokie is a suburb just 15 miles north of Chicago and a 28–minute ride from O'Hare International Airport.
Registration at the Collector level was $250 and the Associate level was $140.
Fire & ICE is the name of the event and it relates to Chicago for its history (the Great Chicago Fire of 1871) and the Harmony Kingdom and Adam Binder presence at the International Collectible Exposition from 1996 to 2003. As a matter of fact, the June dates correspond to the ICE dates from the past. A large number of our current collectors met and formed lasting friendships from the ICE shows. This is a way of paying homage to our history.
Artist's rendering of the fire, by John R. Chaplin,
originally printed in Harper's Weekly; the view faces
northeast across the Randolph Street Bridge. |

Both of our guest artists had created special pieces for this event.

Peter Calvesbert chose "fire" as his inspiration for the Early Bird piece, and has created Light My Fire, which may explain how the Great Chicago Fire really started. This piece was available at the Collector level, for those who registered before November 15, 2011, with a final payment due February 14, 2011.

Adam Binder, who recently won the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation's Wildlife Artist of the Year 2010 award for his bronze sculpture of a polar bear, chose "ice" as his inspiration and has created the main event piece On The Brink, black stain version, available to all Collector level registrants. |

Our Yahoo! Groups event message board is no longer active!
This was a place to ask questions about the event, get ideas of places to go, and things to see.
There were even weekly contests!
