HOP and HK UK were moved to another fun filled city with a one-day main event and an Optional Outing the day before. We met up with friends, enjoyed some fun and food, and of course took home exclusive pieces carved for the event by Peter Calvesbert. All this whilst raising a bit of money for charity.
New Orleans is known for its excitement. You enjoyed the French Quarter for its dining, clubs, shopping, and especially the music. The city also offered a busy river and port, streets lined with stately homes, trolleys to take you to the most exciting sites, a city park that offers beauty and serenity, and so much more. These were easily enjoyed right from our hotel with short walks, or using the trolleys. The trolley that passes right in front of our hotel goes west to the lovely Garden District. You could ride the trolleys for $1.25 per ride or $3 per day. It was a fun way to see the city.

The Royal St. Charles Hotel was centrally located in the heart of downtown New Orleans. We were excited about our boutique hotel as it was the perfect size for us (not too big and not too small) with a single ballroom that was exclusively ours for the event day. The location could not be more perfect: on St. Charles Street, only one block off Canal Street. The French Quarter is on the other side of Canal Street. You could easily reach the hotel from the airport and enjoy your entire stay without needing a car. However, parking was available through the hotel. The hotel was seconds away from the trolleys that offer transportation to most places you want to see.
CAN'T MAKE IT TO NEW ORLEANS?
Whilst the pieces are exclusive to the event, Harmony Kingdom UK was allowing you to register for the event and still receive the main event figurines, including the Early Bird Figurine Mardi Gras Pete (if you qualify), even if you could not attend. HOWEVER, there is an exclusive Treasure Jest figurine and other goodies that were available, only if you ATTENDED the event.
If you had an opportunity to stay around for any part of the next week, be aware that the WWE WrestleMania 34 started on Sunday, April 8th, and the French Quarter Festival starts on Thursday, April 12th. Check out the festival at [fqfi.org] and see the awesome music and other activities you can enjoy. In 2017 over 700,000 people enjoyed the festivities.
Hope we saw you in New Orleans (Nawlins) in 2018!
