Skippy and Paws for Belle could be yours!
The HK House of Peers (HOP), in conjunction with Harmony Kingdom UK and Harmony Ball Company, hosted SOUTHERN COMFORTS, April 5–7, 2013, in Atlanta. We had over 130 eager collectors enjoying the weekend! Plus you had an opportunity to receive event exclusive limited figurines. For details on Paws for Belle and Skippy, please read on.
Artist Peter Calvesbert and family attended the event. The weekend was filled with many activities that delighted the collectors and raised money for charity. NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) [www.nami.org], Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary [www.noahs-ark.org], and Rainbow Children's Home [rainbowchildrenshome.org] benefited from our efforts. With the help of our donors and sponsors, HOP raised over $178,000 for charity during the previous six conventions we've hosted.
People were able to participate in this event as a sponsor, even if you could not attend, by advertising in the program and by making donations to be used for fund raisers and/or the Goodie Bag received by each attendee. It is a win-win situation for all involved. For the collectors; it makes them aware of the sponsors who help make the event so much fun; for HOP, it provides products and funds that allow us to host the event and raise money for charity; and for the dealer or sponsor or collector, it brings you to the attention of those who spend the most money on HK.
HOP recognizes your value and wishes to reward those who assist us in making it a successful weekend for the charities we support. We offered a limited number of Paws for Belle, the early-bird figurine, to sponsors who qualify. All sponsors had the right-to-buy Skippy, a special brown-colored squirrel-with-peanut pendant exclusively for sponsors. Both were carved by Peter Calvesbert.
The registration deadline for sponsors was January 15, 2013!
Sponsors received benefits based upon their level of participation. They could help in three ways: with donations for our fund raisers; by purchasing ad space in the event program; and with items for the Goodie Bags. We had multiple levels of support; each has a different criterion for qualifying and receives different benefits.
MAJOR SPONSOR
To qualify for this level, a sponsor needed to purchase an ad (minimum of a 1/4 page – cost $40) and do at least one other option:
- Make a donation of at least $150 retail in collectible items for the charity fund raisers and/or
- Send 150 items for the Goodie Bags with a value of at least $150 (donation was approved by the Committee to prevent duplication).
For your support, you were:
- Listed as a sponsor in the program;
- Included on the "Sponsors" posters in the main collector facilities; and
- Received the early bird figurine Paws for Belle (value $75) to use in any way you wish.
- Have the Right-To-Buy Skippy, a special brown color version of the squirrel-with-peanut pendant (cost was $25).
PREMIER SPONSOR
To qualify for this level, a sponsor needed to have an ad (minimum of a 1/2 page – cost $75) and do at least one other option:
- Make a donation of at least $250 retail in collectible items for the charity fund raisers;
- Send 150 items for the Goodie Bags with a value of at least $250 (donation was approved by the Committee to prevent duplication).
- If a sponsor donated at least $1,000 in items, they received the 1/2 page ad at No Cost to the donor.
For your support, the sponsor:
- Received all of the MAJOR SPONSOR privileges;
- And, all PREMIER SPONSORS are included in a drawing for a prototype of one of the event figurines.
DEADLINES
We had a time issue since the ads are placed in the Event Program. The program includes details of the weekend activities and serves as a reminder of great memories. The deadline to register as a sponsor was January 15, 2013. Since printing is done in advance for shipment to the event, all donations MUST have been received no later than January 31, 2013. Ad copy MUST have been received by February 10, 2013, to ensure inclusion in the Event Program.
REGISTER
It has been said that life's greatest gift may be the giving of joy to others. Participation has ended.
SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS
When items were sent, a packing slip identifying the contents was requested, including an email address and telephone number. We invited our sponsors to include a card or flyer in the Goodie Bag for each attendee. Sorry, no sales or discounts. Shipments must have arrived by January 31, 2013.
