CHARITY PUBLIC DOLLAR RAFFLE
— OPEN TO THE PUBLIC —
SOUTHERN HARMONY COLLECTOR'S CLUB SPECIAL PENDANT
At each of our HOP conventions, the local club sponsors an event before the festivities begin for collectors to meet and greet the other attendees. There is no charge to the attendees, but the Southern Harmony Collector's Club was selling a special pendant to raise funds to pay for the event.
This pendant is usually offered only to attendees, but Southern Harmony wanted everyone to have a chance to add this delightful squirrel pendant carved by Master Carver Peter Calvesbert to their collection.
Meet Shelly, a special black color of the squirrel with the peanut, for $25 each. Even if you did not attend, you could have helped the club by ordering yours. There was no maximum.
CHARITY PUBLIC DOLLAR RAFFLE
Prototypes, hard-to-get pieces, and much more could have been in your future! You had an opportunity to win any of these items and help charity at the same time. The HK House of Peers was excited to announce a portion of our Dollar Raffle, held during the Atlanta convention in April 2013, was open to the public! The Dollar Raffle is one of the major activities at the HOP HK conventions used to raise money for charity.
Over 70 special raffles were selected with almost half being prototypes or rare and hard-to-find pieces. We made 20 of these special raffles available to the public, as well as the attendees. Each prize has its own box for tickets, so you know you'll only win something that you wanted.
The tickets cost $1 each with the proceeds donated to Noah’s Ark and Rainbow Children's Home, charities of the local club—Southern Harmony Collector's Club. Visit the charities sites at [www.noahs-ark.org] or [rainbowchildrenshome.org].
Everyone had a chance to participate in the raffle, even if you did not attend the convention. Attendees could also purchase tickets on Friday and Saturday (April 5–6) at the event. Checks, payable to Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary or Rainbow Children's Home, were held and presented to the charity during the event.
If you payed by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express) or PayPal, a 4% fee was added to your charge to cover the fees.
Public participation by non-attendees needed to select which raffles they wanted and needed to purchase tickets no later than March 25, 2013. People attending could have ordered their tickets in advance and had them waiting for them at registration with their names already on the tickets or placed in the boxes, if specific prizes were selected.
If you did not attend the convention, you were responsible for paying the cost of shipping your win(s). If you know someone who is attending and you want them to pick up your prize(s), hopefully you let us know.
The prizes along with the ticket boxes were on display Friday night and Saturday. At 3:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, you had your final opportunity to place your tickets in the boxes you desired. The drawing was held on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 4:00 p.m.
Tickets purchased before the event were combined with those purchased during the event. Once we received your order and payment, we acknowledged receipt and provided you with your ticket numbers.
Look what you could have gotten for only a buck! (Odds varied!)
