Kennedy Space Center

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER

Thursday, April 10, 2008

Bus Leaves at 8:00 AM
Bus Returns at 4:30 PM

Everyone has a fascination with space travel and the men/machines that reach to the heavens. Now you can see where they begin at the John F. Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Get aboard our chartered deluxe motor coach to begin your very own trip to outer space!

The tour began with an escorted bus ride to Kennedy Space Center. Once you arrive at the Space Center, you will have approximately 5 1/2 hours to enjoy the sites. You may stay in a group with others, or go on your own. Check out the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and everything that's in store for you at [www.kennedyspacecenter.com]. You can also visit [www.nasa.gov/centers/kennedy/home/index.html] for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration website.

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER OVERVIEW

Your day at the Kennedy Space Center includes the Kennedy Space Center Tour of NASA's Launch Headquarters, two IMAX® films, all shows and exhibits, and a visit to the Astronaut Hall of Fame. The tour includes stops at the four-story LC-39 Observation Gantry, where you get a bird's eye view of the Shuttle Launch Pads, and parts of the world's busiest space launch facility.Kennedy Space Center

The second tour stop is the acclaimed Apollo/Saturn V Center, where you will walk beneath a massive Saturn V rocket, relive Neil Armstrong's first steps on the moon, and experience the thunderous rumble of a Saturn V moon rocket lift off.

Your day continues with IMAX movie screenings of "The Dream Is Alive," where you experience life in space, or "Space Station 3-D," which takes you on a virtual trip to the International Space Station in a fully immersive big-screen environment. You may also enjoy the many other shows and exhibits at the Visitor Complex, including a chance to meet a real astronaut at the Astronaut Encounter, and enjoy the zany live-action show "Mad Mission to Mars 2025."

The day is topped off with a visit to the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame, located at the entrance to the Kennedy Space Center. This attraction features the world's largest collection of personal astronaut mementos, historic spacecraft, one-of-a-kind space legacies, and hands-on activities. You may sit in a mission control console, take a virtual moonwalk, feel the pull of 4 Gs in the G-Force Simulator, and land a Space Shuttle.

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER BUS TOUR

This bus inside the Space Center runs approximately 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Tours run continuously every 15 minutes. In order to return to the HOP chartered bus in time, the last tour you can take would depart at 12:30 PM. There are two stops along the way; the LC-39 Observation Gantry and the Apollo/Saturn V Center.

ATTRACTIONS AT KENNEDY SPACE CENTER

Kennedy Space CenterJohn Glenn, Neil Armstrong, Sally Ride, and Jim Lovell are just a few names of the brave men and women that have launched into space from Kennedy Space Center, and now it's your turn to become a part of the space program. Your full day of exploration includes real space hardware, authentic attractions, inspiring exhibits, and hands-on Kennedy Space Centerexperiences that will make KSC the highlight of your Florida vacation.

The incredible accomplishments of the Apollo moon program return to life in the amazing Apollo/Saturn V Center. In back-to-back IMAX theaters, you'll feel the thrill of space exploration on five-story screens as you "float" right alongside NASA Astronauts. On our guided tours into exclusive areas, you'll get a behind-the-scenes look at Kennedy Space Center's working space flight facilities. Strap in and experience interactive space flight simulators at the Astronaut Hall of Fame. Touch a real piece of Mars, see gigantic rockets, board the Space Shuttle Explorer, and much more.

U.S. ASTRONAUT HALL OF FAME®

Astronaut Hall of FameCome live the human side of space like you never imagined you could—complete with the sights, sounds, and experiences of the real astronauts who first ventured into the frontiers of space. Experience exhibits dedicated to our nation's astronauts, including the world's largest collection of personal memorabilia and realistic astronaut training simulators.

Kennedy Astronaut Hall of FameThen, it's your turn to take the controls in the Astronaut Adventure® room, suit up, strap in, and blast off into an interactive experience that gives you a true taste of space, like the G-Force Trainer that lets you feel the pressure of four times the force of gravity. Feel what it's like to walk on the moon or ride a rover across the rocky Martian terrain, then carefully guide the Space Shuttle to a smooth landing.

Explore a rare collection of astronaut artifacts and see remarkable displays, exhibits, and tributes dedicated to the heroes. From Wally Schirra's Sigma 7 Mercury spacecraft and the Apollo 14 Command Module to stunning glass etchings that line the Hall of Heroes, this facility celebrates those astronauts inducted into the Hall of Fame.

WHAT DO YOU GET FOR YOUR MONEY?Pillage (blue parrot) Pendant

In addition to the deluxe motor coach chartered for our group, an escort on the bus will assist you with how to plan your day. Your admission ticket for the Kennedy Space Center, and you will receive a special event parrot pendant, Pillage, which was carved by Monique Baldwin.

All of this for $105 per person, for adults, and $95, for children ages 3 to 11. This price includes the cost of the motor coach, entrance fee into KSC, and the pendant. All participants in the optional outings on Thursday will receive this figurine as part of the outing. If you participate in two outings, you will receive two identical figurines.

Meals are not included, but there are plenty of places to eat at the Kennedy Space Center Food Court, or bring a picnic lunch to eat onsite. The Kennedy Space Center is wheelchair accessible.

NOW FOR THE DETAILS

Participants will meet in the lobby of the Crowne Plaza Hotel at 8:00 AM. The Kennedy Space Center Tour departs the hotel in a deluxe motor coach and returns to the hotel at 4:30 PM. Aboard the bus chartered by HOP, will be an escort who will assist you in the organization for your day's activities. This escort is familiar with the Space Center so that you can ask questions about what you are going to see on the way to the Space Center and get more information about what you saw, while on your return to the hotel.

There is a limit on the number of people who can participate in this adventure, based on the size of the motorcoach. If we fill a coach, we will take additional reservations on a stand-by basis until we have sufficient numbers for a second coach, at which time the reservations will be confirmed. Reservations may also be limited based upon the availability of the Pillage figurine.

Guests, those who are not registered for the event, are welcome to go with you on the Kennedy Space Center tour.

Online registration has ended.
