Come one, come all to the Harmony Bowl Game!!! That's right, come watch the competition and cheer for your favorite team at the Collectors' Reception on Friday, June 25th, from 8–11 PM, at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare in the International Ballroom. Admission is just $5 per person. Advance ticket purchase is strongly encouraged in order to avoid standing in line at the door!
"Harmony Bowl Game" - what's that? Similar to the TV show "College Bowl," teams compete by answering questions on a variety of subjects. In the Harmony Bowl Game, the subject for the questions is HK and each Independent Collector Club is invited to field a team for this competition. There will be only three people on each team - but there can be an infinite number of club members in the cheering squad! A prize awaits the winning team along with guaranteed fame and glory for the participants!
The reception is a great time to meet other collectors and learn more about the Independent Collector Clubs - perhaps even join one or more. Many clubs will have membership information, sample newsletters, raffles, and other goodies. You might even win a door prize!
Swap 'n Sell! Have a few extra pieces you'd like to sell? Looking for a special piece you just can't find anywhere? For the first time, we have an opportunity to hold a Swap 'n Sell event for HK collectors just prior to the Collectors' Reception. This event will be from 6–7:30 PM at the Hyatt in the same room as the Collectors' Reception. Admission to the Swap 'n Sell for buyers is $2.
ICE Procession! The HK House of Peers with the Independent HK Collectors' Clubs promise a grand entrance into the ICE Show on Saturday morning. Marching to the stirring sound of bagpipes, clubs will have banners to lead the Lord of the Aisles Parade. To be included in this early march, we must meet before 8:30 AM. Details will be available closer to the event, however you must have your entrance tickets in advance.
A new artist will be introduced to collectors at Rosemont. Monique Baldwin is the carver of Chapter 3 of the Harmony Garden series. She also carved much of Chapter 2. Bring your flowers for her to sign and meet her in Rosemont. Martin Perry and Peter Calvesbert will also be there to sign your pieces. Leanna Barron will sign your HK Reference Guide in the HK booth, so don't leave it at home! |
