The HK House of Peers offered you the opportunity to win a rare prototype of Desert Serenade. The funds raised in this auction will be used to support HOP's activities on behalf of the Independent HK Collector Clubs.
Desert Serenade Prototype
Desert Serenade was given to collectors who attended the HK CORRAL collector event held in Phoenix, Arizona, in October 2006. The total edition size for the event piece was only 225. The prototype auctioned here is one of five that were made; the other four were given as prizes at the event.
Desert Serenade Prototype
This piece was originally carved in 2002 as a possible entry in Lord Byron's Harmony Garden series. Sherman Drackett carved the original exterior and Monique Baldwin carved the original interior, so their hallmarks appear on the piece. When it was decided to use it for the event, certain changes were made to fit the theme of the HK CORRAL. For example, cacti were added to the bouquet in place of more conventional blooms, and an interior was added that fit the event's Western theme.
