NEWSFLASH - FEBRUARY 5, 2001

Harmony Kingdom - Wood Anniversary Prototype HOP Raffle at Anaheim ICE

Wood Anniversary PrototypeDid you know that one of Peter Calvesbert's favorite media stars is Homer Simpson? Well, Peter planned to honor his hero in this year's entry in the Cake Topper series, Wood Anniversary! The piece was changed before production started, but the HOP has a prototype and one lucky collector will win it at the International Collectible Exhibition at Anaheim, California, this April.

Wood Anniversary PrototypeThere are two major differences between the prototype and the regular piece.  On the prototype, Peter's necktie features an image of Homer Simpson - on the production version it has a geometric design. The inscription on the base of the prototype also varies from the production version. The prototype reads "Wood Anniversary 2000" and the production version reads "Wood Anniversary 30th Sep 00". The bottom of the prototype also has a hand-written note "Wooden Anniversary #001".

The piece was changed prior to production, so the only way to own the Simpson version is to win the raffle. Tickets are only $5 each, and you can buy as many tickets as you wish. If you want your ticket stubs sent to you, either include a self-addressed, stamped envelope or add an extra $0.50 to your check. Mail orders must be received by April 23, to ensure they can be included in the drawing. Make your check payable to HK House of Peers.

Tickets were also be available at the HOP table during the HK Reunion on Friday night, and at the HOP and Club tables at the Show on Saturday and Sunday. The winner was drawn on Sunday afternoon.

The HOP will use the funds raised by this raffle to support collector and club activities (such as the HK Reunions in Anaheim and Rosemont), the costs associated with the mailing of the "Psst! Are You a Member?" pins, and other administrative expenses.
