HK House of Peers and
Harmony Kingdom offers you the
opportunity to win an this prototype of Pond
Pleasure, one of the Covets series of box figurines. At the same time you would be
assisting NAMI (the National Alliance
on Mental Illness), a grass roots
organization dedicated to the eradication of mental illnesses and to the improvement
of the
quality of life for all whose lives are affected by these diseases.
Pond Pleasure Prototype
Pond Pleasure (COFR) was
carved by
Master Carver Monique Baldwin and released in 2003 as one of the
first releases in this series. The box figurine was produced as a
fixed edition of 2500 pieces worldwide, and made at Wimberley Mills
in England.

Pond Pleasure HK Secrets:
(Production Box)
Covets are whimsical yet functional figurine boxes, combining three
dimensional carving and detailed etching. The exterior of "Pond
Pleasure" features a lifelike frog reaching for a lady bug. The
interior portrays a fish, partially etched and partially sculpted,
with room enough to store special treasures.

Notice how
the frog's sculpted legs merge down into an etching on the box itself.
It is this combination of three-dimensional carving that makes this
Covets series special. Monique was the innovator of this technique.
There are
several significant differences between this prototype and the piece
that was finally issued:

The prototype
does not have the lady bug on the lid that appears on the final
version.

The design in
the band around the bottom of the base is a hand-drawn series of
diamonds, rather than the frog footprints that appear on the final
version.

The interior
of the prototype is empty, it does not have the sculpture of a fish
that appears in the final version.

The prototype
is slightly smaller than the final version. The dimensions are 2.5" x
3.4" x 3"; the final version is 2.7" x 3.8" x 3".

The prototype
does not have any hallmarks.

The base of
the prototype has the handwritten notation: Figurine Frog Box
#001.

to improving the lives of persons living with serious mental illness
(major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia,
obsessive-compulsive disorder, and anxiety disorders) and their
families. Founded in 1979, NAMI has become the nation's voice on
mental illness, a national organization including NAMI
organizations in every state and in over 1100 local communities
across the country who join together to meet the NAMI mission
through advocacy, research, support, and education.
