Charity Auction

The HK House of Peers and
Harmony Kingdom offer you the
opportunity to win
Leclair, an
extremely rare David Lawrence prototype. At the same time you will be
assisting NAMI [National Alliance for the Mentally Ill], a grass roots
organization dedicated to eradicating mental illness and improving the
quality of life for those affected by these diseases.

Leclair Prototype
Leclair was
carved by David Lawrence in 2002 and produced in England. The production piece is available
as a fixed edition of 5,000.
What makes this particular prototype so exceptional is its
extreme rarity of type. As the first few pieces came out of the molds, a
question was brought up about the lid. Production was halted, and one of the
first pieces out was taken to be assessed. The bottom of the lid and base were
finished, and the piece was polished. Nothing else was done to it.
One of David's mice is sitting on top of his fiddle case
playing a fiddle.
His
little cap, complete with tiny detailed coins, and David's signature acorn sits
upturned waiting for any donations.
The travel stickers on the case are from places David visited
in 2002, with the exception of Paris. The inspiration for the piece was David's
newly found hobby of learning to play the violin. He started taking lessons
about three years ago, along with his daughter Rose.

Leclair Prototype
This
Leclair prototype has a base, while
the production piece does not. There is no stain or color on it. It remains the
mellow ivory color it was when it came out of the mold. It is not marked
Prototype.
The interior contains Rose's "Grade 2" music book, a piece of
sheet music and a school pass for Rose. Mrs. Benison, the village fiddle
teacher, is referenced as "Mrs. B" on the interior. This same lady has a most
wonderful bureau, also by David Lawrence, named after her.

Leclair Prototype Interior & Lid
Leclair also
contains all the HK hallmarks, David's initials and 1 for Version 1. The crown
stamp is not on the top or bottom of the piece.
Due to the fact that it is a "First Out" prototype, the detail
is unbelievable! You can even see the edges of the coins (photo above) in the
hat! It is an extremely beautiful and very rare one of a kind prototype.
Do not miss the opportunity to add this beautiful, rare piece
to your collection. You will not only bring joy to yourself, but you will help
bring joy to those who NAMI supports.
