The prize for HOP's Fall Raffle is that elusive kitty - Back Scratch! Last year, during the Clair de Lune 2000 Convention, Harmony Ball Company donated five of the Elusive's to the HK House of Peers for use in charity fundraising. Three were Back Scratches - this is the last, so don't miss this chance to win one!
The Fall Raffle will benefit NAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill), the nation's leading grass roots advocacy organization solely dedicated to improving the lives of persons with severe mental illnesses.
Tickets were only $5 ($7CDN or £3UK) each, and you could buy as many as you wish. Checks were made payable to NAMI and sent to HK House of Peers. The entry deadline was December 1, 2001, and the drawing occurred shortly thereafter.
The lucky winner, could have this cat at your home in time for the holidays!
And...
Thanks to the generosity of HK collectors, the HK House of Peers Fall Raffle for Back Scratch raised $2,000 for NAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill). Anna Greashaber of Harmony Ball Company had the honour of picking the winning entry. The winner of the raffle, Mary Kay DeMayo of Dearborn, Michigan, will have Back Scratch in her home by the holidays!
Mary Kay started collecting HK after seeing the booth at Rosemont in 1997. She began with the roses, then a few of the animals that had a special meaning for her, and of course it snowballed from there! Mary Kay has been frequently seen at national and international events and is currently the HOP delegate for the Harmony Great Lakes Collector's Club.
Congratulations, Mary Kay!
